Platform Engineer, Birmingham, £55,000 - £65,000
There's a big consultancy, world-wide recognised who are looking for AWS Platform Engineers.

Working with the public sector, you would have access to high scale systems.

For example, their Kubernetes clusters include over 100,000 nodes, which would give you a lot of experience within this area.

This is just one example - you can seriously expect to progress your capabilities and career within this organisation.

I'm looking for a driven individual to add value to this AWS cloud team.

On a day to day basis you can expect to work with AWS, Docker/K8s, Terraform and Jenkins as well as provide consultation, design and technical support for the delivery of projects.

You will act as somewhat of an expert in AWS tech and show collegiality by helping (or receive help) your colleagues.

In terms of the role responsibilities it would be beneficial to have experience with the following:

  • Cloud (AWS)
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Operating Systems (Linux)
  • IaC (Terraform)
  • Scripting (Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Orchestration (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins)
  • Serverless (Lambda)
This is a role which provides more of an entrepreneurial environment rather than a pyramidal structure.

You can progress your own development in an autonomous environment, creating stretching objectives and seeking learning opportunities within the businessand beyond.
