Job description

We're recruiting We're looking for a new colleague to join our School-based Careers Team, following an internal promotion.

The role is within our Business Engagement Service, which was established to bring together our student and graduate employability offer, within an externally facing unit, to deliver employer informed careers provision.

This is an exciting time for us at Leeds Beckett.

We have recently risen 40 places up the rankings on the Good University rankings and are making great progress on our employability agenda which runs across the university.

Are you looking for an opportunity that enables you to bring expertise, ideas, and drive, to have an influencing role to the futures of our diverse and talented community of students? If so, read on

Within the role, you'll be working in partnership with our academic schools, providing expert careers and employability consultancy to drive forward positive employability outcomes.

You'll be developing and delivering impactful careers education within and alongside the curriculum and facilitating the connections to the wider careers and experiential learning offer to open up a broad range of opportunities and career pathways.

You'll build strong connections externally, influenced by an understanding of student and graduate aspirations within your school(s) and the graduate job market.

You'll draw on that insight, together with knowledge of the student demographic, to drive careers provision and activity, drawing on key employability metrics including Graduate Outcomes, to demonstrate impact.

From the perspective of student engagement, you'll be supporting career development learning in a range of contexts including digital e-learning, face-to-face teaching, facilitated group work and one-to-one guidance.

You'll also be collaborating with stakeholders including staff and employers to build impactful provision at scale.

The role is part of our School Careers Education team.

Additionally, within the service you'll be working collaboratively with colleagues in our Central Careers Education Team, Placement and Experiential Learning Team, Graduate Progression Team and Digital and Data Insight Team.

In terms of our approach and ways of working - you'll be part of a team culture that encourages an agile approach, embraces innovation and empowers colleagues to showcase their expertise, guided by the strategic goals of the team and the university.

We've recently received recognition from our professional body, through the awarding of the AGCAS Membership Quality Standard.

We're keen to hear from anyone who has experience of employability and career development learning in Higher Education, or in a related setting, and who has developed and delivered employability activity that has led to positive outcomes.

Additionally, experience of supporting the careers education and career development learning of International Students, would also be valued.

Whilst the opportunity is a full time, we're open to exploring different working patterns and ways of working to meet that.

Working here means you'll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.
