The Commercial / Contracts officer will be the point of contact with clients (MoD) for existing commercial relationships, providing information of terms, pricing and assistance with the provision of information to enable negotiations and decision making.


The Commercial / Contracts officer will be integral to generating business case models to gain approval, preparation & issue of approved commercial proposals sign off for contract reviews to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.

In addition the presentation, analysis and interpretation of contracts & commercial data to facilitate decision making.


The Commercial / Contracts officer provides commercial support and advice to multi-functional teams, preparing contract summaries of new and existing contracts and briefing them of the obligations and commercial risks.


Also contract risk and opportunity management, drafting and negotiation of agreements and contract clauses in line with corporate guidelines, conformance to commercial and business processes.


You will work closely with various internal departments including, finance and technical departments to ensure invoices are raised and processed correctly in accordance with the contract terms.


The successful Commercial / Contracts officer would ideally be able to demonstrate either the aptitude for working in a contracts and commercial business environment or previous business experience of UK MoD contracting environments and an understanding of pricing models.


However graduates or college leavers with relevant business or supply chain or related qualifications with excellent written and oral communication skills would be of interest.

Good planning skills, attention to detail, a methodical approach, problem solving and negotiation combined with the ability to work with customers and colleagues to reach agreements is essential.
