Role and Responsibilities

Job Purpose:


To lead the IT department in its support of the firm through the introduction, service delivery levels and maintenance of best practice in the professional, high-quality provision of IT infrastructure, telecommunications, and business systems.

The role is responsible for the strategic planning of future IT requirements and guide the firm through the processes of acquiring and training relevant security credentials.

The post is "hands on" and will cover all IT activity in ABD's offices in Devizes, Chippenham, Royal Wootton Bassett, Marlborough, and Swindon.


The postholder will also manage the following staff:
IT Training Coordinator
IT Systems & Software Developer
IT Support Analyst


Key Responsibilities:


Leading the IT Team

  • To provide inspirational leadership, expert strategic knowledge, training and coaching to the IT team.
  • To ensure effective management of the team by communicating clear job expectations, accountabilities and conducting regular review meetings and appraising performance via the ABD HR system.
  • Effective management of underperformance
