We cover the entire life cycle of any building project, saving our clients time, money, and effort through our market-leading technical expertise.

    We seek a highly experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer based in London, able to inspire others. This individual will have at least seven years' industry experience and be capable of running medium to large-sized projects, as well as undertaking a client-facing role in engineering project development, design, and coordination.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Run large projects, undertake client-facing roles in engineering project development and design, and coordinate services for Electrical installations, systems, equipment, and facilities across various building types.
    • Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes.
    • Conduct surveys, tests, and dilapidation reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations.
    • Ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
    • Makes day-to-day decisions on project progress and provides advice to clients through direct liaison.
    • Represents the Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
    • Ensures engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards.
    • Leads the coordination of engineering services.
    • Takes a holistic view in selecting and applying engineering concepts and solutions.

    Requirements

    • BSc/BEng or degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
    • MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND plus relevant experience or equivalent.
    • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
    • Significant experience in specification design for multiple building types.
    • Solid knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
    • Familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
    • Good understanding of BS standards/UK Regulations/Codes.
    • Ability to prioritise workload.
    • Capacity to work under deadlines.
    • Managerial skills.
    • Presentation skills.
    • Supports the delivery of projects according to the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC, and Technical Review perspective.
    • Background in consulting or construction preferred.
    • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
    • Acts ethically, adhering to the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the Group.

    Salary:

    £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
