RSD is working with one of the largest measurement survey companies in the UK, providing a range of services to the property, rail and infrastructure markets.

We are looking for experienced Instrument and Monitoring Technician to join our PC Monitoring team.

Utilising the latest technological advancements, the team has been involved in a number of high-profile projects over the years including various GasworkDevelopments, Convoys Wharf, Bloomberg HQ and King's Cross.

Primary Purpose


To support the technical team and working closely with the Technical Manager, project team members and internal support functions, this role shall lead on the correct and continued configuration of bespoke monitoring equipment on PC Monitoring contracts.

Performing tasks within the London office for preparation of equipment to be deployed to site.

Whilst on site, you will also be required for the installation of equipment, maintenance of equipment & trouble shooting of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Testing and setup of up of monitoring equipment before deployment to site
  • Location tracking of PCM equipment when equipment is on site and in the office
  • Deployment and installation of monitoring equipment in construction projects
  • Maintenance and repair/replacement of monitoring equipment on and off site
  • Assist Data Engineer in data management for presentation and delivery to the client via a dedicated website or other suitable methods.
  • Manage, organise and participate in the installation, operation & maintenance of automated and manual monitoring systems.
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for the design, construction, testing and maintenance of data acquisition systems.
  • Configuration of online data monitoring and presentation software.
  • Brief project teams on requirements and instructions and report on site progress to the engineering management team.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance and fault finding on installed monitoring systems Retrieving, checking and processing data for presentation and delivery to the client via a dedicated website or other suitable methods.
  • Perform trouble shooting of monitoring systems and take appropriate remedial actions (including client communication as required).
  • Design, prepare, setup and quality control monitoring software packages which provide monitoring data to our customers.
  • Maintain tools for data manipulation to ensure productivity is maximised. Assist thorough testing and QA of any solutions.
  • Assist in researching and developing new monitoring technologies and approaches.

Requirements:


  • A technical, engineering, electrical engineering or survey background
  • Will have the ability to communicate on a technical level with members of the engineering team, project specifications and technical matters related to the project
  • Will have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Prepared to be involved with projects which may run outside of normal working hours and weekends
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence "Category B"

Salary:
£30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
