What you will be doing:


We are seeking an experienced
Category Managerto support Ventures Business Unit, in delivering real value to both customers and shareholders in a dynamic business unit which is rapidly progressing in the new important world of renewable energy.

The role will give you enviable exposure to new markets and commercial solutions to drive value and positive returns.


You will be responsible for:

  • Overall category management of renewable energy space, developing multiple, compelling sourcing initiatives, delivering the best value to Thames Water
  • Establishing highly effective relationships with key stakeholders and the supply market whilst demonstrating Thames Water's values and behaviours
  • Supporting a multiskilled team through the procurement process, ensuring energy and commitment and striving for the highest standards of professionalism
  • Ensuring that sourcing projects are delivered on time, achieving optimum risk allocation, best value and fulfilling customer's expectations.
  • Following necessary procurement regulations are observed and efficiently managing spending within budgets.

We're looking for you to:


  • A successful career in Category Management
- (Procurement and contract/supplier management)

  • Minimum 3 years of strategic sourcing in a multistakeholder environment
  • A track record in delivery against stretching targets
  • Project and Performance management experience
  • Solid negotiation and dispute resolution skills
  • Be market curious and inquisitive by nature and possess extensive
supplier relationship building experience

  • A degree in a commercial field such as Business Studies, Accountancy, Supply Chain or equivalent.
  • Utilities understanding and an exposure to the challenges they face
  • UCR and noneregulated procurement experience
