Role Purpose:


As a Digital Media Clerk, working in the Criminal Justice Department, you will support the Digital Media element of the file preparation process.

The purpose of the role is to achieve the objectives of ensuring cases are progressed to the Crown Prosecution Service and through the court systems according to the standards agreed in the case management programme.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Liaise with all parties (including Police Officer/File Prep) to provide update of progress of the digital media request.
  • Liaising with the Imaging Unit at the Regional Scientific Support Unit for my complex redaction requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and statistical data in respect of digital media work.
  • Liaison with internal/external agencies.
  • Provide advice and guidance to officers regarding media content and court process.
  • Support Police/File Prep Officer with advice regarding downloading digital media and requirements for Court/CPS purposes.
  • Interrogate/Input/Retrieve various computer packages and perform any associated admin tasks.
  • Provide support and coaching to newly appointed digital media clerks and assist supervisors with "on the job" training to new digital media clerk during their induction period.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.

Applicable when the work can be undertaken at any location, whether that be a SYP building or from home.
