NUH provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including structured education programmes for people with Type1 and Type 2 diabetes, transitional care, an insulin pump service and well established antenatal, foot and renal services.
Outpatient Endocrinology is provided in the Treatment Centre.
Regional neurosurgical facilities are provided in NUH, and there are well established endocrine surgical services at the Trust and the Treatment Centre for thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disorders.
The service has well established links with paediatric endocrinology (paediatric transition), neurosurgery (joint pituitary clinic and monthly regional MDT meeting), thyroid surgery (including thyroid cancer MDT), adrenal disease (quarterly MDT) and gynaecology (quarterly MDT Turner's clinic).
The endocrine team has recently established clinical service links with the Nottingham Gender Dysphoria Service.
There are excellent links with Departments of Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Vascular Surgery, Pituitary & Endocrine Surgery, Infectious Disease (OPAT services), Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Nephrology & Transplant and Clinical Chemistry.
The post will provide inpatient ward cover to a GIM/specialty ward at the QMC campus (shared equitably with consultant colleagues on a rota basis) and will support the development of an inpatient and community diabetes service.
Outpatient clinics will be delivered on both campuses and will include General Diabetes, Endocrine, Antenatal Diabetes clinic, Preop Diabetes clinic and Community Diabetes clinic.

Salary:
