Applications are invited from motivated and enthusiastic individuals for the role of Business Support Assistant. The department consists of Transport, Vehicle and Fleet Operations.

Fleet Services are responsible for all administration associated with the Police vehicle fleet, including taxing, insurance, fuel, telematics & RTC's in additional to service, maintenance and repair at our inhouse garage workshop.


Reporting to the Fleet Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for providing administration support to Fleet Services within the Fleet Operation Team.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- *
  • Monthly taxation/first registration/decommissioning (Incl. Covert) of fleet vehicles.
  • Fuelling process and requirements for force vehicles, including bunkered fuel and fuelcards.
  • Collating documents in relation to Insurance, RTC and Uninsured Loss Recovery work. Saving documents relating to RTC claim number in shared RTC folder.
  • Provide required documentation/data as required.
**Essential Skills and Experience:
- *
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular experienced in the use of excel
  • Experience of working on their own initiative and within a team environment
  • Experience of working with all levels of management and external suppliers
  • Excellent keyboard skills and be able to transcribe information
  • Plan and prioritise own work activities, responding to manager's/departmental requirements, in addition to own responsibilities
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills at all levels of an organisation
  • Able to answer the telephone effectively and courteously.
  • Excellent, proven organisational skills.
**Desirable Skills and Experience:
- *
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Knowledge of working with a fleet management system, e.g. Tranman
  • Knowledge of vehicles telematics systems

Vetting:

Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.


Medical:

Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
