RSI & Complex Needs Housing Specialist (Rough Sleeper Initiative)

Lewes, Newhaven and Eastbourne

Grade D/E

SCP 15-34: £26,348 to £40,478 per annum

Full Time

Fixed term until March 2025
This role will work as the lead Housing Specialist within the Rough Sleeper Initiative and Complex Needs Homeless service. As part of the service's multi-disciplinary team, they will manage all RSI homeless housing pathways within the service.

This is a Specialist role with the postholder responsible for triaging cases to the appropriate housing pathways and advising on complex housing duties at specialist county forums.

As key link for local authority Housing Options and Housing Needs Services, the specialist will monitor county RSI housing placements across all stages of the programme (assessment unit, temporary accommodation and housing first).

They will monitor county temporary accommodation numbers and duties, and act as the RSI link for the local authorities NSAP and RSAP referrals.

As the Housing Specialist for the service, they will work closely with RSI & MCN Homeless Team Leaders and the local authorities Rough Sleeper specialists

The priority functions for the role are:

  • Specialist advisor on complex needs housing and homeless duties
  • Overseeing housing transitions within the service and across the county,
  • Monitoring TA numbers and escalating any delivery blocks to RSI & LA leads.
  • Triaging cases within the service to ensure individuals are referred to the appropriate pathways e.g. RSI accommodation and Safe Accommodation,

This is a short-term contract until 31st March 2025. Secondments will also be considered.

Enhanced DBS required.
