The SGHWR project is currently entering a construction phase to install all the necessary equipment and ancillary buildings for reactor core segmentation whilst continuing to decommission redundant areas of the facility.

With the increase in deliveries and build up of essential stores required for the construction and core segmentation phases we are looking at recruiting a Chargehand to operate the stores function within the facility.


Key Deliverables

  • Receive all deliveries and ensure that the delivery is recorded, in good condition and the intended recipient is informed that they have arrived.
  • Monitor stock levels of PPE and ensure sufficient levels of PPE are maintained, including liaising with relevant staff to reorder items.
  • Coordinate the active laundry and ensure the laundry is processed ready for collection and the paperwork is complete.
  • Maintain stores security and ensure that items are stored correctly and in the correct conditions to prevent degradation.
  • Maintain inventory of essential spares in liaison with relevant project staff.
  • Issue the relevant stores to authorised personnel on request and ensure the accounting system is used and maintained for issued items.
  • Ensure the stores area is maintained in a safe and tidy condition and all wastes are disposed of through the correct waste route.

Qualifications

  • Experience of operating forklift trucks, overhead cranes and lifting equipment Desirable
  • Experience in a stores environment Desirable
  • Able to use protective clothing and equipment Essential
  • Possess an awareness of safe working practices Essential
  • Experience of supervising staff Essential
This role requires you to be a Classified Worker

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
