What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join the team at Galliford Try.

You will work on our Thames Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes, delivering both Design and Build.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the London area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

As Planner for the Thames Framework, you will work as part of the construction team to prepare considered and competitive programmes associated with bid submissions and live projects.

This is an exciting time to join a growing Planning function and provide full life-cycle planning across multiple projects including bids, pre-construction and live projects so we're looking for somebody with an appreciation of project management and construction processes and an understanding of construction and pre-construction programming.

You'll have the opportunity to visit a variety of sites to fully understand all aspects of the projects, taking this into account when developing pre-construction programmes, linked to the construction programme, and taking into account design and procurement.

Day-to-day, you will be producing logistics and sequencing diagrams/plans and programme commentary, outlining method statements, and producing preliminaries assessment as well as providing ongoing project support to the teams from a planning and programming perspective.

You will play a primary role in producing 4D programmes, presenting programme information to directors at bid settlement and ensuring 4Projects is used as document management system.

Entrepreneurism is at the heart of or business, in your role as Planner, you will challenge solutions to determine optimum programme durations, leading the way in optimisation and performance against targets.

Our aim is to create and maintain an environment where care for our people and those who work with us is our top priority.

You'll be responsible for the Health & Safety of yourself and others, encouraging a safe and collaborative working environment that supports our Health, Safety and Environment culture.

About You:

Alongside this, we're looking for somebody with good contractual awareness, who is commercially astute with the ability to build construction programmes from first principles.

Ideally, we'd like you to have experience of projects across a wide range of building sectors, knowledge of different forms of construction methodologies and construction experience working with a main Contractor.

You'll be able to work as part of a project team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, good attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work.

Good IT skills, including software skills with computer-based planning software, ideally Asta Powerproject are essential for this role.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.

  • Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture
  • Organised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence, striving to delivering the best.
  • Flexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders. Demonstrating strong ethical standards with openness and honest.
