First Achieve Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer, in the Norwich region.

You will be working with a contractor in Energy Engineering, who specialise in offering solutions to the oil and gas, marine, and offshore industries.

This is a Permanent Position, reporting to Engineering Manager, with Direct Reports from Discipline, Design Engineers and Drafting. Engaging proactively with Project Managers to deliver engineering support and ensure projects are adequately managed and supportedwith suitable resources.


The salary on offer is in the region of the £75k.

Role:

  • Manage & provide updates on engineering design and progress.
  • Provide direction where required for design concepts and delivery scopes.
  • Coordinate and participate in design reviews.
  • Act as Design Authority for Electrical Systems on associated projects.
  • Plan, manage and oversee project scopes being performed by your team.
  • Ensure all Documents, Calculations and Drawings performed by your team are undertaken and checked to best practice and any applicable industry, project and company standards.
  • Engineering input into optioneering, scoping, feasibility studies and detail design projects together with providing support to other disciplines in delivery of the project scopes.
  • Identify customer requirements, and interpret into project deliverables including specifications, data sheets, drawings.
  • Design systems and products, providing best practice solutions into; Control gear and Switch gear, Electrical Transformation and distribution, Earthing and bonding systems, UPS, LV/MV/HV, Lighting, Small power, Solar generation and batteries/Renewable energy,Load shedding, Induction motors, Inverter drives and motor controls, cable sizing, electrical management and control systems.
  • Working closely with CAD Technicians in the development of engineering deliverables to support designs, layouts and 3D modelling.
  • Working closely with project controls to estimate costs and timescales.
  • Work to British (BS), European (EN) and other relevant standards.
  • Working closely with other design team discipline engineers and leads.
  • Chair meetings on and off site with clients and vendors.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, writing reports and preparation of presentations.
  • Coordinate electrical thirdparty support, ensuring it performs in accordance with the statutory regulations, company policy, and contract deliverables.
  • Provide engineering input into; inspection, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Integration Tests, installation and commissioning activities with technical input, problem solving, TQ/EQ/RFI responses, overseeing work and site queries.
  • Support the procurement department in answering technical queries, bid evaluation and the raising of commercial enquires.
  • Interface with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors where required

Required:

  • Minimum of HND or equivalent standard in Electrical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the Oil & Gas, Petro Chemical or similar industry
  • Proven electrical systems, distribution and MCC systems design for offshore platforms
  • Proven experience in delivery of project scopes
