Job Summary

Working for a global manufacturing business your responsibility will be for designing and developing interconnection solutions to meet customer needs.

Role and Responsibilities

Support the Engineering Team with design and development of tooling solutions.
Support Operations and external production facilities with design support and ongoing development of agreed tooling solutions.
Identify and promote best practice in tool manufacture and maintenance.
Manufacture mainly carbon tooling using CAD/CAM techniques using the company's CNC Milling Machine and manual Lathe.
Create and manage CAM programs for future manufacture.
Manage tooling and material stock levels to maintain continuous production.
Communicating with external suppliers to define the Make Vs Buy strategy for tooling.
Play a key role in the development of future processes and Capex requirements for tooling manufacture, to ensure the company remains at the forefront of product development and manufacture.
Play a key role and support the Engineering team with Process improvement and product development.
HNC or equivalent in relevant Mechanical Engineering Discipline or similar
Experience of Assembly processes
Understanding of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing techniques and their implementation
Problem solving abilities
Experience writing technical documents
Demonstrated understanding of Manufacturing Techniques
Demonstrated Process improvement experience
Understanding of Design and Manufacturing
Ability to create/interpret engineering drawings
