Experience of varied forms of Main and Sub-Contract is desired such as the full JCT suite, NEC and FIDIC and ideally degree qualified in relevant Construction field
Salary:
£ 65K - Commensurate with age and experience
Job Purpose:
To carry out the financial management and administration of one or more projects ensuring that the financial targets of the project(s) are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to a Commercial Manager / Managing QS the following are typical activities
Liaise and assist the Pre-Construction team at time of Tender.
To carry out the pricing, from time to time, of Projects on a Design & Build basis.
Attend post Tender interviews and assist the Company generally in terms of securing future work from existing and new Client base.
Carry out effective commercial control on Projects from commencement to Completion being able to confidently report on the financial performance against expectations and explain variances.
Demonstrate a strong and pragmatic approach to Risk Management whilst ensuring the Company is protected and it's position enhanced wherever possible, providing commercial solutions to minimise risk and maximise opportunitiesTo promote compliance with commercial policy and procedures promoting best practice throughout the Company
Complete the setting up of a new project / obtaining of appropriate approval, and developing financial targets, and managing the pre-contract expenditure within the project plan budget.
Using appropriate templates and forms as required, ie JCT Suite.To procure typical construction packages within and outside of the Company's approved suppliers list.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of Construction technical matters and be able comfortably suggest alternative buildability and Value Engineering approaches to project scopes
To engage with internal and external stakeholders confidently and comfortably demonstrating good communication skills
Personal Skills:
Knowledge and experience of typical Office suite software such as Excel, Outlook and Word
Good time keeping
Interpersonal skills including both being able to mentor others and be mentored as required
Flexible approach being resilient to pressure and remaining calm and clear minded
Good negotiator remaining astute and decisive and getting the right result in the right way in line with the Company's key approaches to Teamwork, Ethics and Quality
