Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement transportation procurement strategies in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure the best pricing, quality, and service levels.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay uptodate with industry trends, identify costsaving opportunities, and benchmark supplier performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including logistics, operations, and finance teams, to understand transportation needs, forecast demand, and develop procurement plans.
- Manage the endtoend procurement process, including supplier selection, bid evaluation, contract drafting, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as health and safety, environmental, and ethical standards.
- Analyze transportation costs, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report on savings, efficiencies, and supplier performance to management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as process enhancements, supplier consolidation, and technology adoption, to optimize transportation procurement activities.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies in transportation and logistics.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree educated in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) are a plus.
- Proven experience in transportation procurement or logistics, preferably within a fastpaced environment.
- Indepth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and methodologies, with a focus on transportation and freight management.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities, with the capacity to interpret and present data effectively.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and systems. Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) is desirable.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the transportation industry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Resultsoriented mindset with a focus on delivering cost savings and process efficiencies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary:
£35,000.00 per year
