About the Role


We are looking for a
Project Delivery Engineer within the Capital Delivery, Plant Protection and Assurance Department to manage and ensure the safety and integrity of Cadent's gas network during major infrastructure projects such as HS2.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the Plant Protection enquiry process for Capital and/or revenue projects, providing guidance on work in vicinity to Cadent assets.
  • Provide assurance guidance across all pressure tiers to relevant stakeholder.
  • Manage SCO activities for below 7 bar diversions to the Cadent network on Capital and/or revenue projects.
  • Review RAMS, procedures, and designs from contractors on Capital and/or revenue projects.
  • Obtaining support from senior colleagues (Lead Project Manager / Senior Project Manager) Oversee and challenge the activities of more junior team members; provide advice and coaching as necessary
  • Manage and coordinate Contractors and project teams, including the coordination and integration of projects across Delivery Vehicle and Delivery Unit boundaries, to successfully deliver projects to time, cost and specification and with mínimal disruption
  • Provide regular project monthly status reports which will include: SHE performance, milestone progress, risk management and current and forecast financial performance
  • Monitor Contractor site activities to ensure compliance with Cadent SHES standards, Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and CDM regulations
  • Ensure the provision of accurate 'as built' documentation to handover of the assets onto the system to the standards defined in the design.
  • Manage standard and routine third party issues, land, consents, grantors, public
- c relations and Community Stakeholders to preserve Cadent reputation


About you
You will possess the following skills, knowledge and qualifications:

  • Educated to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent in an engineering discipline, ideally leading to Chartered status or similar in the field of engineering or contract/project management
    is desirable:
  • Ideally you will be supported by recognised training or qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental and Financial management


  • SCO 1,2,4 and

  • Good knowledge of all pressure gas networks
  • Good knowledge of Network Operations and SCO requirements
  • Sound experience of successful project delivery and project team leadership skills
  • Good influencing, negotiating and communication skills
  • Good Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply
  • Proficient in Contract management within fixed price and target cost contracts
  • Proficient understanding and experience of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
