Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Department Practitioner to join our team.

As an Operating Department Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures.

Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work well under pressure will be essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Job Role:

-Must be a THEATRE nurse / ODP

- No HCA/ Support workers

Responsibilities:

Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, ensuring all necessary supplies are available, and setting up surgical instruments
Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining a sterile field
Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration as needed
Provide postoperative care by monitoring patients' recovery, administering medications, and assisting with wound care
Document patient information, surgical procedures, and postoperative care accurately and efficiently
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Requirements:

Previous experience as an Operating Department Practitioner
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, medical professionals, and other staff members
Strong analytical skills to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately during surgical procedures
Proficient in data entry and record keeping
Bilingual or multilingual abilities preferred (English/Spanish)
Valid certification as an Operating Department Practitioner
