Food Technology Early Career Teacher (ECT)

The school is a vibrant, forward-thinking school located in the heart of Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Committed to providing an exceptional education to all their students and are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their DT department.

As a Food Technology ECT, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality lessons and fostering a love for food and nutrition among students.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and creativity, while also ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in the food technology environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver outstanding Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum, catering to the diverse needs and abilities of our students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated to explore and experiment with food.
  • Assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources that enhance the learning experience.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic food technology workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently enrolled in a recognized teacher training program.
  • Specialism or strong background in Food Technology or related field.
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring young minds, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to the school community.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to engage in ECT induction and support programs.
