About the Role

  • The position can be based at one of our locations in either the north west or in the north east of England, with the option to work from home several days each week.
  • Some travel to other sites in the region is required, for example to support site visits by the media and politicians or to host events.

What will I be doing as corporate affairs executive?


The Corporate Affairs Executive for our northern region is a member of our 20 strong communications team that covers both external and internal communications, branding, design and videography, public affairs, sustainability and social value.

The role also works closely with our operational teams across the region.

Key elements of the role, will include:

  • Writing press releases and reactive media comment
  • Writing internal communications and supporting at events to involve and engage staff across the region
  • Rolling out PR campaigns to enhance the reputation of SUEZ and its customers, and support positive recycling habits
  • Carrying out political research and analysis
  • Organising site visits and events for stakeholders and the media
  • Marketing support for our growing number of reuse shops selling preloved items
  • Organising community engagement for planning and development for the next generation of recycling and waste treatment infrastructure

What are the requirements?

  • You will write well for a variety of audiences and channels, with accuracy and attention to detail. Naturally inquisitive, you will have an eye for a good communications opportunity and be confident dealing with a variety of stakeholders to build relationships, both internally and externally.
  • You will have some Public Relations and/or Public Affairs experience, either inhouse or in an agency setting.
  • It would be great if you already had some knowledge of the recycling and waste management industry and the workings of local government, although this isn't essential.
  • A valid UK driver's licence.
