Opus Vitae are actively recruiting for a
HSE Coordinator to join our client who are a large food manufacturing company based in
Corwen.


Reporting to the SHE Manager, the main purpose of this role will be to assist the SHE Manager in the delivery of the Company's Safety, Health & Environmental management systems to ensure full compliance against legislation and regulations.


Experience & Skills Required

  • Prior experience working as a HSE Coordinator in a food manufacturing environment desirable
  • Adequate knowledge of H&S principles & practices
  • NEBOSH / IOSH Certified desirable
  • Ability to develop good working relationships, both internally & externally
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office) including preparing reports and data analysis

Salary:
£32,000 - £35,000 per annum.


Working hours:40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, days shifts with a flexible start around 8am - 4:30pm.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out internal H & S audits
  • Creating and reviewing risk assessments alongside writing and updating Puwer assessments
  • Monitor, review and complete COSHH assessments
  • Ensuring adequate and compliant standards for first aid and fire safety
  • Monitor and control PPE usage, ensuring full compliance against UK & European standards
  • Monitoring of site health and safety standards including onsite incident and accident investigating/reporting
  • Conducting and completing nonconformance, corrective and preventive actions
  • Regular shop floor presence, carrying out daily health and safety walkabouts, on the spot inspections and coaching of staff
  • Recording and publishing accident, near miss and incident statistics
  • Preparing permits to work for contractors. Ensure contractors work to site standards
  • Coordinate waste management, identify opportunities for recycling
  • Assisting the SHE Manager in working towards Zero Waste to Landfill certification
  • Publish monthly environment reports with essential information on energy, water, trade effluent, emissions and waste etc
  • Assist with gap analysis and implementation of ISO14001:15 and ISO50001 certification with SHE team

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

  • Corwen: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Licence/Certification:

  • NEBOSH/IOSH Qualification (preferred)
