Urban Empire Recruitment has partnered with a well-established accountancy practice who are looking for a graduate R&D Tax Consultant. You'll be on a graduate program reporting to a senior manager who's also been though the successful program.

You'll support clients with their R&D tax relief claim by undertaking technical and financial assessment and diagnosis to meet the BEIS guidelines, creation of technical and financial data gathered from the diagnosis, management of the claim life cycle, consulting with HMRC, dealing with HMRC enquiries and managing clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identification of qualifying R&D projects and corresponding expenditure through participation in technical discussions with clients
  • Technical assessment of projects in line with HMRC R&D tax relief guidelines and preparation of supporting technical documentation
  • Supporting claims in the event of HMRC R&D enquiries
  • Staying abreast of industry developments and legislative changes relevant to R&D tax relief and other innovation incentives further your knowledge and capabilities
  • Interaction with clients' senior technical staff to develop a comprehensive understanding of the projects undertaken and review in the light of HMRC's R&D Tax Relief Guidelines
  • Maintaining Client information via a CRM system
  • Playing a key role in accelerating the growth of the business by identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Providing weekly/monthly reports to management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • 2:1 minimum in a numerical degree i.e., Math's, Accounting and Finance and economics.
  • Writing detailed reports to tell the story of your analysis
  • You interact readily with other technical professionals, have outstanding people skills
  • Strong attention to technical detail and firsttime accuracy is essential
  • Flexible approach to working hours should client meetings be scheduled out of hours and a willingness to meet exacting service delivery standards
  • Project management skills and client relationshipbuilding abilities
