We are currently seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team at a supported living service in beautiful Cumbria.
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care and support to adults with learning disabilities and autism, empowering them to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing practical assistance and emotional support to individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Promoting independence and facilitating access to community resources and activities.
- Building meaningful relationships with service users, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Implementing care plans and individualized support strategies tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each individual.
- Monitoring and documenting progress, concerns, and incidents in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) are advantageous but not essential.
