Band 2 Receptionist/Administrator - Islington Community Rehabilitation Team


The Islington Community Rehabilitation Team is based at the Islington Outlook Centre and is a multidisciplinary team, comprising Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Rehabilitation Assistants, Psychology, and Social Work.

The remit of the teams is to provide rehabilitation in the community, primarily for adults with neurological conditions.

We are a dynamic team that enjoy working together to establish a highly responsive and effective service.

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated receptionist/administrator.

You will be part of a team providing comprehensive, professional and efficient administrative support to enable achievement of local and national targets within Whittington Health.


You must be enthusiastic, flexible, quick to learn, IT literate, used to various office systems including Microsoft word and excel and have excellent communication skills.

POST SUMMARY


This post holder will work as part of the Islington Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (ICNRT) with reception and back office duties as needed by the service.

This will include typing, general administration work and co-ordinating the appointments system and to provide excellent customer care at all times using Trust Customer Care Standards.


Post holder will be competent in the use of the computer software RIO, including the cancellation and booking/rebooking of patients.


Post holder will receive incoming telephone calls from patients, carers, GP's, staff, other Health Care Professionals and external organisations and to be able to take appropriate action, which may involve discussion with the other members of the team.


Post holder will represent the
ICNRT in a professional and friendly manner, both on the phone and face to face.

Post holder will also support the Community Clinical Staff in carrying out administrative duties


SERVICE PROFILE:

Islington Community Rehabilitation Teamis based at Islington Outlook.

The team is interdisciplinary, comprising Administrators, Clinical Psychologists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and a social worker.


The remit of the Team is to provide rehabilitation and support for adults in the community with neurological impairments that promotes independence and community integration.

Work with service users can vary from short bursts of intervention to longer-term support or rehabilitation.

The Team is committed to a clinical governance programme and team members are encouraged to use an evidence-based practice model and to participate in research and audit programmes.


MAIN DUTIES
Administrative

  • To provide a reception service at designated times and to meet and greet all visitors to the centre in a welcoming, courteous and efficient manner.
  • To take, document and relay telephone messages, confidentially, to the appropriate person1. To assist staff with designated tasks under direction and supervision of the Admin Team Leader
  • To undertake the organisation of incoming mail and documents, photocopying, circulation, processing of correspondence, filing and general clerical duties as required by the
    ICNRT Manager.
  • Booking, cancellation and rebooking of appointments using RIO, Medway and other relevant patient data systems.
  • Booking of interpreters and transport for patients
  • To create client records once accepted by the team
  • To ensure reports are filed accurately in patients records on a daily basis.
