Overall purpose:
The Educational Psychologist is an integral member of the Student Support Services Team within both the Lower School and Middle School.
The leave Replacement role will focus on supporting members of the Student Support Team and providing consultation to parents and faculty.
Major Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Lower and Middle School Student Support teams regarding students with learning, social, health, and mental health issues during weekly SSST meetings,
- Consult with outside referral sources, determining with the SSST, counseling team, principals, and/or assistant principals when an outside referral is warranted or appropriate
- Consult with the Lower School and Middle School administrators and teachers to support student growth and progress
- Consult with Middle/High School Educational Psychologist to ensure alignment of practice
- Exhibit and integrate the knowledge of current best practices, trends, pedagogy, research, and topics of importance in everyday practice.
- Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children
- Participate actively in the life of the school community
- Assume other duties/responsibilities that fall within the expectation of an educational psychologist as requested
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- MA + 30 or equivalent in educational psychology, clinical or neuropsychology
- Registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council
- Member of the British Psychological Society
- National certification as a School Psychologist if a US citizen
- Training and expertise in specific areas including ADHD, mild specific learning disabilities, literacy acquisition, health and wellbeing, executive functioning
- Professional and confidential approach to working with students and families; working knowledge of ethical practices
- Welldeveloped oral and written communication skills
- Desire and preference to work in a teamfocused community environment
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
