Description

The Role

The University of Cambridge's Estates Division is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join the Information and Records Team as the BIM and Digital Assets Co-ordinator.

This Team is responsible for the creation of the policies and procedures for the management of Estates' records and related systems, ensuring that they remain authentic, reliable and secure throughout their lifecycle.

They also provide reports and management information for internal and external stakeholders.

The Estates Division has invested a significant amount of time and money in establishing the foundations for using BIM (Building Information Management) across the capital programme; standards and processes are in place and being used successfully on major projects e.g., £300M Ray Dolby Centre will be a rich source of building and asset information.

The capital programme is expected to be around £800M over the next 5 years.

BIM aims to deliver efficiencies across Design and Construction, but more importantly for the University it provides vital digital information for ongoing Asset Management activities.

However, valuable information can be captured and lost and recaptured many times during a facility's lifetime, usually with a corresponding increase in cost for rework.

Reporting to the Business Information Manager, the BIM and Digital Assets Co-ordinator role is critical to delivery of the University's information requirements, ensuring that the supply chain and the consultants provide information in the right way, collaborate digitally and the value of digital assets is maintained.

It is closely aligned to the design and delivery of services to enable the Division's pursuit of its goals whist providing leadership for BIM across the whole project/asset portfolio.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Division and external project teams you will be responsible for the creation, delivery and maintenance of the Division's BIM standards and protocols.

Through a combination of project work and the delivery of day-to-day services, you will ensure that the benefits of BIM are realised to enable the Division to fulfil its goals for developing and operating the estate efficiently and sustainably.

About You
You will have demonstrable experience of working in a BIM project coordination role and using BIM enabling technologies.

It would be beneficial if you had experience of working for a university estate or other large property owner/occupier in an architectural/construction project environment.
