Purpose of the job
Collinson Insurance offers personal lines insurance in travel, accident & health and a range of ancillary products including home and motor related lines.
The Associate Claims Auditor will report to the Claims Auditor to assist with the delivery of risk-based claims audits for Collinson Insurance.
Under the supervision of the Claims Auditor, the Associate Claims Auditor will measure the effectiveness of internal and external suppliers through the medium of Closed File Reviews (CFR).
The reviews will seek to measure adherence to policy terms and conditions, delivery against contracted KPI and SLA's, and regulatory requirements including the treatment of vulnerable customers.
Our partners are located across the UK and internationally.Key Responsibilities
- Support the Claims Auditor to effectively schedule and plan assigned CFRs to ensure completion of scope within the agreed timeframes
- Support regular visits to supplier offices within the UK and internationally as required, to complete fieldwork through the medium of the CFR process
- Produce detailed audit reports to a high standard outlining findings and recommendations
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Work with the Claims Auditor to implement changes and improvements identified through the CFR regime
- Keep up to date on regulatory and industry developments so that this knowledge can be applied to the audit process
- Maintain audit records with core documentation, working papers and supporting evidence
- Escalate any significant concerns to the Claims Auditor
- Support the Claims Auditor and the wider claims business area with other tasks in line with the role that may be required
Regulatory responsibilities
- Adhere to the FCA's Conduct rules and the Firm's code of conduct
- Undertake all regulatory training as prescribed by the company and comply with all policies relevant to your role
- Immediately report any known conflicts of interest in line with company policy
- Satisfy on an ongoing basis the company's fit and proper requirements which as a minimum shall take account of your:
- Honesty, integrity and reputation
- Competence and capability; and
- Financial soundness
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Proven experience in claims management in one or more of the following areas: travel; international medical and dental healthcare; ancillary products such as motor breakdown, home emergency and gadget cover
- Awareness of insurance regulation and compliance matters
- Able to measure standards to a consistent and objective level
- An ability to gather data, analyse and communicate results and findings in a clear format
- A person who can find solutions to problems
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and comfortable representing Collinson Insurance to external partners
