The team is exploring new and innovate ways to serve customers in non-banking channels, by embedding financial services directly into third party platforms.


To help on this mission, we are looking for an experienced individual to join the Platforms team in the role of User Researcher.


The User Researcher will work within the Design & Research team, supporting senior leadership, product and technology, to better understand the customer.

They will use their skills in primary research methods to explore user need, behaviours and motivations, playing a critical role in creating and launching new and delightful customer centred solutions.

This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.


In this role, you will:

  • Scope, plan, conduct and interpret primary research on multiple aspects of the product and customer experience, to inform design decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Compile existing research about the market and competitors, synthesising into useful and actionable outputs.
  • Capture assumptions and hypotheses about customers and their needs, prioritising with designers and product stakeholders to build and maintain a research backlog.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research activities.
  • Collect and analyse user behaviour through qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other Researchers to prioritise research opportunities, in a fastpaced, rapidly changing environment to deliver the best possible outcomes.
  • Show agility and creativity in integrating design research into the workflow, simultaneously offering critique and new avenues to explore.
  • The role holder will help teams build empathy and make decisions based on customer insight across the endtoend journey.
  • They will help other team members adopt a customer centred mindset and embedding a Design Thinking approach.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience and ability to independently scope, plan, and conduct user centric design research activities, at all stages of value proposition development and product lifecycle.
  • Proven experience and ability across a range research methods: cocreation workshops, value proposition concept testing, UX / Usability research, qualitative interviews, quantitative research and surveys, competitor analysis, secondary research / report analysis.
  • Ability to ensure that insights are communicated and actioned across relevant stakeholders, projects, and teams.
  • Experience in and / or strong commitment to Design Thinking and customer centred design principles.
  • Ability to adapt and learn at speed, managing communication and collaboration with a variety of different stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization.
