RSW are working with their Client based in Pyle, Bridgend to recruit an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their busy and growing team on a permanent basis.

Job purpose (one statement that explains the job's overall objectives)


To operate all aspects of the warehouse ensuring the safe loading and unloading of vehicles as well as the safe movement of internal stock between the production unit and the warehouse.

Ensure that all vehicles used as part of this work are kept in good condition in line with all regulations.

To liaise with Production, Purchasing and Sales departments, providing excellent communication between the areas.

To conform with all required health and safety rules and to work in a responsible manner; to keep the warehouse clean and tidy and be responsible for your own workspace and help take care of those around you.


Key Responsibilities (the results that you are expected to achieve)

Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.

Taking goods to the appropriate storage space.


Keeping a careful record of the stock on the warehouse management system, M3, so that it can be located quickly.

Undertaking month end stock checks.


Operating a variety of forklift trucks to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored and labelled correctly and safely (especially chemicals).


Ideally a 7.5t licence or class 2 Operating the 7.5 tonne vehicle and being able to drive whilst loaded with chemicals.


Picking orders allocated by Sales from the storage space and bringing them for final packing and checking to the despatch area for transportation.

Manually unstacking and restacking pallets where necessary.

Organising transfers between the warehouse and production areas ensuring timely issue and quantities required by production.

Helping production with forklift truck movements when necessary.

Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse and associated vehicles will be part of the daily routine.

With heavy equipment in operation warehouses can be dangerous places, so following workplace health and safety rules is essential.

Fully liaise with colleagues and supervisor to keep communication lines open and working to a maximum at all times.

Must possess the ability to communicate well with peers and immediate supervisors.


Whilst teamwork is essential, as is the ability to understand and comply with work instructions, so is self-motivation and willing to work under your own initiative.

Working relationships

External:
Contractors, agency staff, delivery drivers and other visitors as appropriate.

Internal:
Managing Director, General Manager, Cost Accountant, supervisors and peers, maintenance group, other production groups, internal sales, and QA/QC.

  • Hourly rate of £ % shift allowance for mornings (6am 2pm) and 20% shift allowance for afternoons (10am 6pm).
