Job Introduction
We are recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor to work in our Corporate Health & Safety team. The role offers an exciting opportunity to begin a career in Health & Safety and Fire Safety.

You will work with a diverse group of managers, employees and other stakeholders to ensure the quality and consistency of health and safety performance both within their area of responsibility and across the council generally.


Experience and prior Health and Safety training is not a requirement but may be seen as advantageous, however you will need to have a commitment to gaining your Health and Safety qualifications (Nebosh Certificate).


This exciting role requires someone with good self-motivation and organisation skills, who is comfortable working in an often complex environment, is an influential communicator, and has good levels of IT literacy.

We welcome flexible working and are currently working partly from home and partly from the office. The post will require travel to different sites across Brighton and Hove.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
