The Boxford Group is a forward-thinking, award-winning and family-owned Group of businesses.


Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to work as part of our finance team.

The ideal person will have experience in Bookkeeping or Accounting and demonstrate a commitment to detail and accuracy with the confidence to question information, investigate and correct where required.

The successful applicant will have strengths in the following areas,

  • General bookkeeping including the preparation of accounts to trial balance. Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Technical skills in Excel, ability to manipulate data through export and import of CSV files.
  • A good working experience with the Sage accounting package.
  • Maintaining the sales ledger.
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger.
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintaining ledger accounts, verifying and posting transactions.
  • Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details.
  • Liaising with suppliers.
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and KPIs.
  • Managing and filing relevant documentation.
  • Monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Review AP Ledger, aged and debit balances on a monthly basis.
  • Manage monthly credit card statements.
  • Monthly payroll (input, pension upload, managing holidays sheet, calculation and payment of PAYE/NIC).
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Other Ad hoc tasks and projects to support the finance team.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a fastpaced environment often managing multiple priorities.

What you'll do

  • Support the Finance Controller in establishing daily/weekly/monthly processes and routines to ensure the business has control & transparency of information.
  • Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into Sage, filing soft & hard copies as appropriate.
  • Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances.
  • Completing VAT returns.
  • Monthly reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts.
  • Helping with administrative duties that impact on the presentation of reliable management information and preparing yearly accounts.

Profile

  • High degree of computer literacy and experience in accounting systems.
  • Familiar with Sage, General ledger, Sales Ledger and Cash Book Modules.
  • Excel proficient.
  • Commitment to carrying out monthly control checks.

Location

This role will require presence across 3 sites:

  • Boxford (Suffolk) Farms, Hill Farm
  • Peake Fruit, Home Farm
  • Stoke by Nayland Resort
  • Due to the location of our business, having your own transport is essential._
