Garden and Estate Person


Mirefoot Cottages is a family run business of five self-catering units, leisure facility and three acres of gardens and grounds.

The work will generally be between Monday & Friday with occasional weekend work. A full-time or part time position could be considered.

The expected salary range is £29,500 - £36,500 pro-rata depending on experience and qualifications.


The role
There will be landscaping projects, paving and walling. You will be creating new features in the garden and must have solid experience of this kind of work. There will be estate management work such as fencing and clearing trees requiring use of chainsaws.

You will be equally happy to tidy areas and undertake gardening work including pruning, planting and strimming.

You need to be adaptable with a methodical approach to your work and able to manage your own time.


Roles and responsibilities

  • Undertake landscaping projects such as building steps, laying patio slabs and fencing
  • Creating new features in the garden and new planting
  • Undertake fencing and walling repairs
  • Tree planting and wood management
  • Maintaining and storing equipment
  • Liaise with the General Manager and other contractors when necessary

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in landscaping and estate work
  • A tidy and organised work ethic with the ability to keep records
  • A full driving license living within 30 minutes of Burneside
  • Presentable, reliable and responsibly minded with an eye for detail
  • Knowledge & experience of health and safety at work practices
  • Qualified to operate a chainsaw
  • Have a friendly disposition and be able to work as part of a small team

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Part-time hours: 24-38 per week


Salary:
£28,500.00-£36,500.00 per year
