About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Paediatrics as our Communications Officer.
You will be responsible for information-sharing across the department, and raising awareness of the aims and achievements of the department both internally and externally, working closely with colleagues across the university ensuring a coordinated approach.
You will be the key communications liaison for the Department with the University's Public Affairs Directorate, sourcing interesting stories, developing content for publicity and marketing, ensuring a strong flow of information across the Department.
You will develop and manage the day-to-day operations of the departmental website, social media channels and outward-facing aspects of communication.
You will work with Public Affairs Directorate and a wide range of audiences and stakeholders, promoting and building the reputation of the department.
You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division.The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases and vaccinology.
The post holder will regularly interact with the Departments senior management team, Head of Department and Principal Investigators within the Department.
You will be expected to develop and maintain close working relationships with colleagues in the Public Affairs Directorate and the Medical Science Division.
This role meets the criteria for a UK Skilled Worker visa.About you

You will be an organised self-starter, with the ability to prioritize activities and to manage complex demands on your time.
