Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in managing relationships with existing suppliers for timber and other consumables.
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to reduce costs and improve procurement processes
  • Support the negotiation of favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to achieve costsaving targets
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Stay uptodate with market trends and pricing to make informed procurement decisions
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and cost savings achieved
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies

Requirements:


  • 23 years of experience in procurement, ideally within the manufacturing or construction industry
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective supplier relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confidence in making procurement decisions and driving costsaving initiatives
  • Good telephone manner and proficiency in MS Office
  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and get things done
  • Proven track record of achieving cost savings through effective procurement strategies
  • Experience in sourcing and procuring timber, ironmongery, glazing and other materials used in garden buildings
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make datadriven decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Proactive and selfmotivated, with a drive to continuously improve processes and deliver results
  • Able to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
