Description

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual for the role of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to reinforce the Mass Spectrometry and Ubiquitin Protease Biology research team within the Target Discovery (CMD) and the Centre for Medicines Discovery (CMD).

This post will involve a close collaboration with an industrial partner aiming to explore the translational aspect of the targets identified in the context of this project.

You will be responsible for characterising small-molecule
- and antibody-drug molecules in terms of their tumour tissue penetration, quantitation, localisation within tissue sub-texture. Additionally, the turnover and fate via ubiquitin-proteasome
- and/or lysosome
- dependent degradation shall be addressed.

You will develop targeted parallel reaction monitoring (PRM), advanced spatial liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and matrix assisted laser desorption ionisation (MALDI) - based imaging to measure small molecule
- / antibody-drug reagents levels and distribution in selected mouse tumour tissue samples.

It is essential that you hold PhD (or close to completion) in biology, immunology, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology or similar. Having a familiarity with biochemistry techniques (e.g. Immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, pull-down, in vitro enzymatic activity assays), is essential, and you will have an ability to communicate results clearly and effectively and to discuss scientific ideas both within the work environment.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract until 30 November 2024 and is funded by Bicycle Therapeutics.
