Service Manager

Location:
Face-to-face delivery pan-London, agile working for all other duties
Hours: 35 hours per week, sometimes worked flexibly


Salary:
Grade D point 1 £38,280 to point 5 £46,340

Who you are

You are someone with the expertise and knowledge to manage, often remotely, a multi-disciplinary team of practitioners who deliver a variety of services to children, young people, families and communities affected by violence or exploitation.

Portfolios varyover time so a wide understanding of best practice to ensure the delivery of high-quality services is essential.

You will have a key focus on and expertise in safeguarding, including contextual safeguarding, and an understanding of best practice when workingin wider networks to secure the best outcomes for children, young people and their families.

You will demonstrate both leadership and management skills and understand the importance of coaching, supervision and mentoring within this role.

You will have confidencein working with funders, commissioners and other stakeholders.


What the role involves:


  • Managing a team of multidisciplinary staff and on occasion students and volunteers in line with all internal processes and policies
  • Undertaking a variety of HR processes including managing sickness and absence and undertaking recruitment, onboarding and induction of new team members
  • Having a strong and ongoing grip on all the casework delivered by your team this will be undertaken in a variety of ways including chairing case review meetings, undertaking casefile audits and coaching teams and individuals to deliver to the highest standardat all times
  • Ensuring that the casework of team members is of the highest quality and in line with Safer London's Service Delivery Manual and the expectations of our funders and commissioners
  • Completing reports (which may be shared with statutory bodies such as the police, courts and children social care, and can be shared with the family) that accurately reflect the work undertaken professionally, and supporting team members to do so as applicable
  • Working with partners, communities and other key stakeholders to deliver services effectively
  • Monitoring the delivery of a variety of contracts, whether alone or in partnership with other members of the team
  • Working in a manner which honours our organisational values and is responsive to the trauma and experiences young Londoners, families and communities encounter
  • Acting in accordance with safeguarding legislation and guidance in addition to Safer London's practice guidelines and wider panLondon processes and protocols
