'outstanding' Primary SEMH school in

Gateshead is looking for a teaching assistant to work with a class of 6 pupils with social and emotional mental health needs. Each class has around 3 to 4 members of staff and the school provides amazing training on communication, sensory strategies and behaviour management for new members of staff.

The main duties will include:

Supporting the pupils in their education through the school's own curriculum
Supporting the class teacher with recording attainment, behaviour plans and EHCP paperwork
Carrying out interventions in small groups and 1:
Following the school's behaviour management policy effectively
Promoting independence with life skills
Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
Be available for work Monday to Friday
Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
A full checkable work history
