Be part of the co-ordinating team for patients undergoing anticancer treatment across the busy units at York and Scarborough Hospitals and the mobile chemotherapy unit.
To work with the minimum of supervision in an organised, efficient manner in order to maximise the effective use of both their own time and that of unit staff.
It is essential that the post holder uses initiative compatible to the role and is able to multitask whilst maintaining confidentiality at all levels at all times.
Responsible for organising the patient flow through the units by allocating patients appointments for treatments and patient reviews.
Act as a single point of contact for telephone enquiries for staff and patients.
Process referrals generated by the MDTs
Co-ordinating new patients to the service
- organising pre assessments, ordering any additional tests that are required eg Hickman lines.
Monitoring scheduling, assessing workload and capacity, appointment times, drug availability and manage/escalate accordingly.
