Based at Britannia House, Broadway, Bradford, BD1 1HX

With responsibility for the Council's structures assets the post holder will work within a team of professional engineers looking after 623 bridges, subways and culverts across the Bradford District in addition to 40 sign gantries/signal mast arms and over 1,600 recorded retaining walls totalling over 120km in length.

In addition to maintaining and improving the structures asset the team also provide a structural engineering certification service for the Council's Building Control section.

As Clerk of Works, you will work as part of a focused multi-discipline civil and structural design team, working on a variety of projects to:

Provide technical expertise and advice on specific aspects of engineering problems.
Contribute to the delivery of engineering solutions and updating of systems working as part of a team under direct supervision of the Senior and Principal Engineers
The collection of technical information, data processing and assessment to formulate engineering solutions working as part of a team.

Qualifications and/or Experience Required:

ND in Civil Engineering OR Technical NVQ Level 4 in civil engineering OR other academic qualification accredited by the Engineering Council as being appropriate for Engineering Technician Status OR Completion of National Apprenticeship Scheme OR External Lighting Diploma.
Eng.

Tech status OR Further progression with Membership of the Institute of Highway Engineers (MIHE)

A good standard of IT literacy of Microsoft Office programs is required including the ability to produce spread sheets and written reports.
