Description
To support implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan for Treating Tobacco Dependence within Secondary Care.

To support the development and implementation of the Treating Tobacco Dependence Service for inpatient services and be responsible for delivering the objectives, improving health outcomes, supporting in-house tobacco treatment advisors.

To be responsible for delivering and teaching evidenced based practice and will develop and maintain networks to share good practice and learning from each other across neighbouring Trusts and beyond.

To be responsible for the development, implementation and local audit of services, policies, guidelines, training and pathways which will include data collection, performance management and quality assurance of the programme.


To work alongside and support all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, Local Authority Public Health Stakeholders, Clinical Teams in local Trusts, Smoking Cessation Advisors and other health professionals and service providers engaged in this field of work.

The postholder represents the RSCH in the Surrey Tobacco Alliance, Surrey Heartlands tobacco control programme and other cross
  • Surrey stakeholder gatherings.
