We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our Outpatient Appointment Reception team at Fulwood Paediatric Audiology Clinic.

We offer a full induction, in-house training and the opportunity to work with a caring and passionate team.


This post will provide an intriguing yet rewarding challenge and give you the opportunity to play a key role in the provision of an Outpatient Appointments Booking service whilst supporting the admin team.

This post is Monday - Friday from 09:00 am to 17:00 pm.

You will possess excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills, attention to detail being a key characteristic.


You will ensure that standards of service are maintained, have a strongly held commitment to high standards of service delivery and be pro-active in supporting the booking team to ensure clinics slots are fully optimised.


You will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective outpatient reception and appointment service, with strict adherence to Trust protocols, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.


You will deal with all aspects of our outpatient appointment system called Auditbase, activating outpatient appointments on arrival, updating patient demographics and checking the out-coming clinic attendance are completed.

The post-holder will be expected to support the admin team with ad-hoc duties as requested.


You will be multi-skilled following training, have a full understanding and working knowledge of various reception areas and the basic functionality of clinics covered.

Duties to include, but not be limited to:

  • Demonstrate an approachable, courteous, efficient appointment service to all Health Care Professions, patients, carers and relatives.
  • Actively contribute towards service development.
  • Maintain good communication skills when dealing with colleagues, patients, relatives, carers and other health care professions, utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal and electronic.
  • Constructively managing barriers to effective communication.
  • Use initiative to resolve conflicts in a mutually agreeable way, escalating to management where necessary.
  • Rotate within the Outpatient reception teams to ensure that a multi skilled work force is maintained
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times as required by legislation and Trust Policy.
  • Provide an efficient and courteous outpatient appointment booking service
