We are looking for a passionate teaching assistant to support KS1 pupils on 1:1 basis with special needs.

This is a full time position (8.30 AM -3.30 PM - Monday to Friday) and the SEN school is based out of Leeds, LS2 area.

In this role, you will be assisting with classroom activities and lessons tailored to their learning requirements. Collaborating with teachers and specialists to implement personalized education plans. Facilitating social interactions and promoting inclusion among students. Monitoring and recording progress, helping to adjust strategies for improved learning outcomes.


Roles & responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create tailored learning activities for students with SEN.
  • Provide personalized oneonone support, adapting teaching methods to individual learning styles.
  • Assist with personal care tasks when needed to ensure student safety and wellbeing.
  • Utilize effective behaviour management techniques and strategies to handle challenging behaviours positively.
  • Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Foster independent learning skills, social development, and emotional wellbeing in students.

Requirements:


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with young children.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • A genuine passion for helping and supporting children in their learning and development.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals in an educational setting.
  • Eligibility to work in UK (No sponsorship provided)
