Salary:
£27,610.50 FTE

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Term:
Fixed term to 31st March 2024

Location:
Brightspace, Ipswich or the Kirkley Centre, Lowestoft, with blended home working

Community Action Suffolk (CAS) is the county's infrastructure organisation for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. Our mission is to strengthen and champion community action in Suffolk by supporting the VCFSE sector in its work.

About the role

We are seeking an Emergency Food Provision Officer to work across the whole of Suffolk with communities by supporting current and new community food provision.

This position will involve working alongside the Suffolk County Council's communities and funding teams to ensure holistic support.

The role will also involve working and coordinating with a variety of organisations and networks to ensure the distribution of food is fair and equitable.

Such groups include the Church, parish councils and community groups who run Food Pantries and Top Up Shops across Suffolk, providing people suffering hardship the opportunity to supplement their weekly shop with both food and non food items.

Determining the need for each community and liaison with those groups as well as the key individuals running these pantries is a key part of the role
