Oakpark Security Systems LTD (Part of the Vertas Group) is a leading provider of security solutions across the East of Anglia and the south coast.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Control Room Operators to work at our Head Office in Colchester.


The primary responsibilities will include conducting hourly check calls with our security team members working in the field, receiving alarm activations from various monitoring stations, and dispatching and tasking mobile response officers accordingly.

Additionally you will be responsible for several administrative tasks, such as completing reports, and covering open shifts. A comprehensive training and induction programme will be provided.


This role requires strong customer service skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and the ability to work with computers for extended periods.

The shift pattern is 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off, averaging 42 hours per week at a pay rate of £11.50 per hour.

This is a night-time role with shifts starting at 1800 until 0600.

Bank holidays worked will be compensated at double the standard rate. While a driving license is preferred, it is not essential. All applicants must hold a valid SIA license.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct hourly check calls with security team members working in the field
  • Receive and manage alarm activations from various monitoring stations
  • Dispatch and task mobile response officers based on alarm activations
  • Perform basic administrative tasks, including report completion, roster management, and covering open shifts
  • Demonstrate excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • Comfortably work with computers for extended periods of time
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times

Requirements:


  • A valid SIA license is mandatory (Security Guarding or Door Supervision)
  • Strong customer service skills and a customerfocused mindset
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
  • Proficient in working with computers and technology
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment
  • Flexibility to work 4 on 4 off night shifts
  • A driving license is preferred but not essential
