About the role

Against the backdrop of the talent war in the accountancy profession and due to our rapidly developing business, we are growing our comms team to support the delivery of our message to key internal and external audiences.


The Communications Executive reports to the PR & Comms Manager, who heads up corporate communications and media relations at the firm.

The PR & Comms Team sits within the firm's Practice Development Department, which also incorporates sales, business development and marketing; and the People team, which encompasses HR, Recruitment & Resourcing, Early Talent, and Learning & Development.


The Communications Executive will work with the Senior PR & Communications Executive to manage the ongoing development of our new SharePoint intranet, planning, organising and writing engaging content to enhance information sharing across the firm and strengthen stakeholder engagement with our core messaging and brand.

You will plan, manage, and deliver regular internal communications from our Managing Partner and the key teams whose messaging is a core part of our brand (including our EDI committee, Charity committee and Wellbeing committee).

The Comms Exec will also play a key role in engaging the talent market with our brand, by developing and executing our recruitment
comms plans.

You will effectively leverage a range of media (including video and audio) to get our message across via the appropriate digital platforms, including our website and social media channels.

You will work closely with partners, managers and members of the People and Practice Development teams to integrate our corporate & brand messaging into all comms activity and communications campaigns.


In this role, you will develop and manage proactive campaigns to strengthen the reputation of the firm and its key spokespeople among relevant audiences.

Your core channels will include (internally) our new intranet; and (externally) the Moore Kingston Smith website, LinkedIn, Instagram, plus channels of the Moore network.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the daytoday maintenance and further development of the firm's new SharePoint Intranet; including identifying training requirements and delivering suitable training with support from the IT team and the Senior PR & Communications Executive
Organising and coordinating relevant content to be delivered in a timely and engaging fashion, through internal and external channels

  • Drafting internal copy for the intranet and messages on behalf of the Managing Partner and Committee leads to drive stakeholder engagement with the firm and its initiatives
Drafting external messaging including announcements, social media posts, website copy, articles, blogs and other copy as required

  • Supporting the implementation of the firm's recruitment campaign in line with our messaging, through multiple media and channels
  • Identifying and managing training requirements e.g., for effective communications
Repurposing content for new audiences (e.g., clients, businesses, members of our international network, internal people) - so an understanding of the different motivating factors of core stakeholders is essential

  • Managing, measuring and evaluating communications campaigns to improve results
  • Managing the contents of our internal newsletter
  • Producing and writing reports
  • Arranging meetings, filming, and any training required on an ad hoc basis
  • Other responsibilities as required
Essential Requirements

  • Experience in ensuring regular, fresh content is delivered through an intranet site, and the management of timely content, involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills, strong time management and great communication and relationshipbuilding skills are essential
  • Excellent storytelling, copywriting and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multimedia communications campaigns against an agreed timeline, with demonstrable results
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and prioritise
  • A confident decisionmaker
  • Experience managing social media accounts and campaigns to deliver specific messages
  • Positive, cando attitude a team player, with a flexible attitude to work
  • Strong networking skills, quickly establishing relationships and trust from external parties and internal clients; great interpersonal skills
  • Eye for detail, with a big picture, resultsfocused mindset
  • Comfortable advising senior level colleagues.
Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working with international partners (within a firm or network)
  • Understanding of the relationship between corporate communications, media relations, marketing, business development and sales, and experience of working with professionals in those functions to deliver an overall result
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Experience of training people in effectively leveraging social media to deliver results
  • Experience of making/directing phot
