Our client, a leading forward thinking firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking a General Practice Manager to join their team in the City of London.


You will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, predominantly FCA regulated, wider financial services and technology clients, with fees of 500K+.

The role will be audit ffocused while getting exposure to wider business advisory work asrequired. You will also manage, mentor and train junior members of staff.


Key duties inlcude:

  • Dealing with all aspects of audit and accounts assignment management, to include job planning, budgeting and time management
  • Delegating to and supervising the team
  • Monitoring progress of the team and managing projects
  • Detailed reviewing of files and debriefing the team with a key focus on feedback
  • Reviewing corporation tax computations and liaising with Tax specialists
  • Finalisation of file for Partner review, including the calculation of corporation tax
  • Submission to HMRC and Companies House
  • Daily contact with the Team, Partners, clients, HMRC and other professional bodies
  • Overseeing and mentoring junior staff, motivating and providing encouragement where required
  • Dealing with marketing and onboarding of new clients, presentation pitches and identifying new business opportunities


You will ideally hold a professional qualification such as ACCA/ACA or equivalent or be QBE, with a strong practice background and experience of managing a portfolio, as well as junior staff.

You will also have good technical knowledge of UK auditing andaccounting standards, corporate tax, UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102 and IFRS.

Previous dealings with FCA and FS clients would also be an advantage.
