Our client
Our client is one of the UK's largest and most well-established independent Electrical Wholesalers. They provide off the shelf Trade Counter Service and Local Sales Desks and telephone support.


Job Role
To promote the range of goods supplied by selling to customers on the telephone and at the trade counter.


The Opportunity

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Customer Enquiries and Orders.
  • Obtaining all necessary information to allow the sourcing and pricing of all material required including alternatives and secondary sales opportunities.
  • Contacting suppliers to obtain pricing and delivery information together with any special ordering requirements.
  • Determining in conjunction with the Branch Manager, the prices to be quoted to the customer, together with any other information or conditions.
  • Contacting the customer to give details of prices, deliveries and other information as required. Also arranging confirmation of this information to be sent to the customer.
  • Conducting proactive telephone calls to predetermined customer groups as directed by the Branch Manager.
  • Ensuring all delivery promises are maintained by continually monitoring and chasing any outstanding orders.
  • Quotation followup as necessary.
  • New Accounts - Obtaining all necessary information required by Head Office to consider new credit accounts and passing this through to Head Office.
  • Customer account queries or other problems. Obtaining all information and actioning as directed by the Branch Manager.
  • Handling inter-branch orders and enquiries.

Supplier Contact:

  • Selecting sources for nonstock special items.
  • Obtaining information required under (1) above.
  • Placing orders.
  • Handling queries
  • Conducting goods receipt procedures.
  • Conducting goods receipt procedures.
  • Advising the Branch Manager of any relevant matters relating to customers, suppliers or competitors.
  • Previous experience in electrical wholesale sector (Essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Team player
  • Confident telephone manner
