Job Summary:


  • Job Title: Group Health & Safety Coordinator.
  • Sector: Automotive/Motor Trade.
  • Salary: OTE of Up to £45,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) + company car + pension + health cash plan + 24 days holiday + discounted shopping, gym, and dining benefits.


Our client has a turnover of approximately 250 million and employs over 800 members of staff across 22 car dealerships and 1 dedicated service centre.


They are now actively recruiting for a Group Health & Safety Co-ordinator to cover all of the car dealership sites in the UK.

Our client has sites in the North East, North and East Yorkshire, Midlands, East Anglia, and the South West.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and deliver an effective health and safety service provision within the group, to meet the statutory Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with external H&S Consultants to ensure new safety legislation and best practice is cascaded down to the dealerships and department managers.
  • Assist sites in preparing for any external audits.
  • Liaise with Contractors in maintaining/setting up Service Agreements for tools and equipment.
  • Monitor staff training and ensure elearning courses are completed within the required timescale.
  • Carry out onsite audits, monitor control measures, and advise on areas that are lacking, assisting where necessary.
  • Monitor the company Health and Safety online system to ensure risk assessments are updated and that dealerships are fully utilizing the system in terms of maintenance documentation and review dates.
  • Holds the NEBOSH diploma or equivalent and/or Membership grade of IOSH preferred but not essential.
  • Has a detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation (preferably within the Motor Trade).
  • Competent to interpret and provide advice on a diverse range of health and safety issues.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for business purposes.
  • Be available to be involved in major incident handling and to be consulted outside office hours in an emergency.
  • Have a full and valid driving license and be willing to travel throughout the UK.
