We operate over 7 million of warehousing space across 30+ locations in the UK. Our distribution network spans all corners of the country.

Our Kettering site are now recruiting for a Driver Trainer on aFull Time basis.


Salary:40.000 Per annum

Working hours: 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday


The purpose of aDiver Trainer isDeliver driver related training, evaluate and monitor the impact of training on Culina Logistics Drivers.


Main responsilbities of a Driver Trainer:

  • Assess and induct all new drivers and sub drivers to the site and transport operation
  • Deliver training relating to drivers' hours / tachographs / Working Time Directive rules and regulations to new starters and existing drivers
  • Use performance statistics and deliver training to proactively manage the driver performance
  • Provide new starter training / Inductions
  • Arrange Driver CPC training for all drivers
  • Providing mentoring and remedial training on all aspects of a drivers job as required
  • Support in the delivery of effective Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices
  • Ensure that all training documentation is completed, maintained and up to date, including appropriate sign offs and administration on completion of training
  • Monitor and evaluate all training provided, assessing Great Bear's needs and ensuring all needs are met at all times
  • Report on (both verbal and written) the ability and performance of drivers following all driver training courses undertaken, using counselling and coaching techniques as required
  • Liaise with other personnel such as Transport Manager and Transport Planners as necessary in order to maximise the plan to the drivers ability and also Fleet Manager regarding issues with truck and / or trainer
  • Monitor the standard of driving and provide information, advice and guidance to departments such as H&S

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours
  • Knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours, Working Time, Road Transport and Health & Safety Legislation
  • Attention to detail / accuracy
  • Essential skills in LGV C&E Driving Licence
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Adaptable approach to work / training
  • Conscientious and reliable
  • Adaptable attitude
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information to trainees
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team or individually
  • Able to manage effectively and communicate to the correct level
  • Qualified to Advanced Driving level would be desirable
